HEI completed two insulation projects in this period, one for the community library building and one for the Harbury RFC clubhouse.
In 2010/11 Warwickshire County Council closed 16 local libraries. Harbury was quick to put together a plan to take it over in the building that was being vacated by the County. The handover required considerable refurbishment by the county. As part of this HEI applied successfully to the government’s LEAF fund, aimed at promoting The Green Deal. This allowed us to insulate the interior walls of this old draughty building significantly improving the thermal efficiency. Two radiators had to be removed to prevent overheating.
The work was completed by the end of March 2012.
Soon after HEI gained a small grant from energy company E.ON’s Energy Action Fund. This was used to complete cavity wall and roof insulation at the clubhouse of Harbury Rugby Football Club.
